Comedian Vincent Mwasia Mutua alias Chipukeezy has landed a new job in President William Ruto’s office.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Chipukeezy had been appointed as the new Deputy Director of Protocol and Events, Office of the President.
A happy Chipu took to his socials to thank President William Ruto for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet.
“Deputy Director Protocol and Events, Office of the President: I am truly humbled and ready to serve. When the time is right, God will make it happen. Thank you, His Excellency. @williamsamoeiruto 🙏,” Chipukeezy shared.
Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Coordination Dennis Itumbi also shared news of the appointment on Wednesday afternoon.
“Congratulations on your appointment as Assistant Director, Protocol and Events in the Executive Office of the President!” he said on X.

Itumbi wished the comedian well, stating that the appointment was deserved owing to his work in the creative economy.
“Habakkuk 2:3. May you serve with unwavering focus and passion as we work together to drive the success of The Creative Economy,” he added.
Chipukeezy’s new responsibilities include arranging official ceremonies, state functions, and diplomatic etiquette.
His responsibilities will include protocol management, event planning and coordination, communication with government agencies and diplomats, speech and briefing preparation, public relations, and media coordination.
Chipukeezy will be in charge of ensuring that diplomatic protocols for state functions are followed correctly, arranging the reception, accreditation, and hosting of foreign dignitaries, and advising government officials on protocol etiquette and procedures.
The comedian has been a close associate of the Kenya Kwanza administration and has been an MC at some of President William Ruto’s events.

NACADA ROLE
Previously, he was appointed by the Uhuru Kenyatta administration to the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) board.
Chipukeezy was born and raised in Tala, Machakos County,
He attended Kwatombe Primary School.
He later proceeded to Masii and Tala high schools for his secondary education.
While in high school, he actively participated in drama club activities, becoming a darling among teachers and fellow students. Usually, he would create funny scripts.
He joined a local theatre production, which acted on set books for high schools. Later, he landed a better gig at Heartstrings, appearing eight times as a warm-seat narrator.
Eventually, he was able to raise the fees to join the East African School of Media Studies.
