Multi-award-winning DJ, event organizer, and actress Pierra Makena is counting her losses after experiencing a deep betrayal from someone in her inner circle—a person she held so dear that she considered them family.
Still reeling from the pain of deception, Pierra—who made headlines earlier this year for being the first Kenyan DJ and the first African artist to perform at the main arena of the Perth Rugby Sevens in Australia during the HSBC SVNS series—took to social media to vent her frustration and seemingly release some of the hurt and anger she had been holding in.
The renowned entertainer unleashed a series of emotional posts, warning about the malicious nature of people and emphasizing that trusting the wrong person can be a costly mistake.
Posting on her Instagram Stories, the mother of one reflected on how she used to be too forgiving, admitting that she is no longer the same person.
“Human beings!!!! Be very careful who you allow in your life, your space, or your heart….” she began.
She went on to express her pain:
“People are malicious. People will use you, abuse you, and still talk sht about you—then come back to your space and smile with you…”
Despite being in her 40s, Pierra confessed that it had taken her a long time to set and maintain boundaries—but she was done allowing people to take her for granted.
“It took me forever to have boundaries, but here we are…. I’ll still be kind and accommodating, but I’m also ready to deal with anyone who takes it for granted….”

Fans Weigh In on Betrayal
In another Insta Story, Pierra invited her 937K followers to share their experiences of betrayal by someone they once held close.
She further ranted, revealing that the person who hurt her the most had tried to sabotage her success out of jealousy.
“Have you ever taken someone in as family, done everything possible to help them live, only for them to turn on you and try to destroy you in every way? Honestly, today I’ve really spoken my heart out…. Hii Nairobi!”
Wrapping up her emotional posts, Pierra warned her fans to be cautious about who they let into their personal space, reminding them that some people are nothing but wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Despite her pain and material losses, she made it clear that her spirit remains unbroken.
“Chunga! Someone will stay close to you just to learn your weaknesses and finish you! But Mungu ni nani?? You can take everything I have, but I’ll still be me—happy and content.”
It seems Pierra has turned this painful lesson into a wake-up call—one that many can relate to.
