US-based Kenyan model and content creator Elsa Majimbo recently took to social media to share some life advice, urging women to be cautious about relationships, finances, and personal well-being.
Some of those tips are below:
1. “Never Get Pregnant”
Majimbo strongly advised women against getting pregnant if they are not in stable relationships, emphasizing the immense responsibility that comes with motherhood.
2. “Do Not Do Drugs”
Majimbo warned against drug use, stating:
“If you’re doing drugs on a random day, you have a problem.”
3. “Be Educated”
She encouraged women to develop skills, whether academic or practical, highlighting the importance of self-sufficiency.
“Get a skill—you can learn how to cook or do makeup. Just have something to fall back on.”
4. “Do Not Rely on a Man”
Majimbo stressed financial independence, warning that relying on a man could lead to control and manipulation.
“A man will control you because he is controlling your finances.”

Elsa Majimbo on Her Toxic Relationship Experience
In early 2024, Majimbo opened up about how she escaped a toxic relationship with an Argentinian man she was dating at the start of the year.
Initially, she described their time together as exciting:
“We had so much fun together. When I was dating him, I felt like the rest of the world didn’t exist.”
However, their relationship was filled with constant arguments, which led them to end things. Despite the breakup, they struggled to stay apart and decided to maintain a casual relationship instead.
“We both knew we weren’t going to get married.”
Majimbo recalled that her ex was a gentleman who often treated her to sushi, her favorite meal.
However, things took a toxic turn when she took him to a fashion event where she liked a few items. He generously agreed to buy them for her.
Later that night, she expressed her desire to go home and rest, but he questioned her decision.
“He was like, ‘What do you mean you’re going home? I just bought you all those clothes.’”
The disagreement escalated into a full-blown argument. The following day, another text conversation led to yet another fight, making Majimbo realize how unhealthy the relationship had become.
“I blocked him. That was it.”
