The summit is an event that brings together the who’s who of female leadership on the continent and beyond – from the world of business, politics, art, sports, civil society and life; a unique collection of female trailblazers who are distinct in their thinking but single-minded in their purpose – all for a new, equal and thriving world.

Sarah Hassan jetted out of Kenya to join other A-list speakers – from global billionaires to Hollywood celebrities, Olympian sports stars, corporate titans and Grammy-winning artists, in a conversation expected to change ideas and innovations into revolutionary action.

Previous speakers include Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former president of Liberia; Renown legendary model, Noami Campbell; Dr Naledi Pandor, former South African minister; Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed; Desiree Ellis, head coach of Banyana Banyana; Mo Abudu, Nigerian media mogul; Tyla, Grammy Award-winning artist and Sabrina Dhowre Elba, model, businesswoman and media personality.

The summit is in its tenth year and promises to bring an experience like no other. From fireside chats and powerful spotlight segments, to robust panel discussions and one-on-one sessions; this is a summit that is connecting the dots, the doers and their doings.

“We are thrilled to present FORBES WOMAN AFRICA Leading Women Summit, especially as it celebrates 10 years in existence,” Managing editor, FORBES AFRICA and FORBES WOMAN AFRICA, Renuka Methil said on the website

“It has been an incredible journey that saw women across sectors collaborate, exchange ideas and sharpen each other’s minds and contribute to the economy meaningfully. We invite you to join us for this milestone gathering as we look to the next 10 years. We will meet the next cadre of leadership, from the forefront to the future, unravelling their new discourse and playbook. Get set for the conversations that will change ideas and innovations into revolutionary action.”

She spoke about celebrating these female trailblazers (see poster) whose unwavering spirit and extraordinary achievements in their respective communities can share their powerful stories and inspire younger generations to bring forth fearless female leaders.

Wanjira Maathai and Rachel Stephanie AKinyi, a poet, are also speaking.

This comes ahead of the International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8.

The 2025 campaign theme is accelerate action. Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.
