Nairobi County’s Geoffrey Mosiria’s Heartfelt Plea to Kenyans About His Wife

Being in the limelight has its ups and downs, and this gets more frustrating when one’s close circle of loved ones starts catching strays or being affected as well.

This is a situation that Nairobi County’s Chief Environmental Officer, Geoffrey Mosiria, understands all too well.

Mosiria rose to prominence through his TikTok presence, which showcased his passion for a cleaner and noise-free environment.

He has also been praised for his work in the health sector when he served as the chief officer of health facilities. However, he has faced his fair share of criticism and bullying from disgruntled keyboard warriors.

While he has grown somewhat accustomed to the negativity and it doesn’t bother him much, his main concern is when critics start peddling negative comments that affect his wife.

In an exclusive interview with our reporters, Mosiria shared this concern as he pleaded with his detractors to give his wife peace and allow him to focus on his work.

“I would only ask those people who post negative things about me, those who post some messages, you know, some even write, ‘this one won’t make it to next year,’ and other things. You know, you scare my wife. Please give my wife peace. You make her live in a constant state of worry because she sees the comments. Just give my wife peace, please. One day you will be in this position. And I think most of the people posting these things are young people who are not yet married, and I pray that they one day get married so that they understand what people go through when you abuse them, when you post negative things about them… it is not a good feeling,” the county officer candidly shared.

He went on to add that while the negativity sometimes gets to him, he has learned to make peace with the hate by reminding himself that if there are no conversations or buzz around your name, then you are not doing anything meaningful.

“But then again, if people are not talking about you—and this is what I always tell my wife—then it means you are not doing something,” Mosiria asserted. He added that talk from outsiders should never really influence you.

“Let people talk about you. Be it negative or positive, let people talk about you because it means there is something you are doing, and it is changing society. Sometimes we make some unpopular decisions which most people don’t like, but the results that we get are the best results,” Mosiria shared.

To his wife of nine years, Mosiria gushed over her as he shared his hopes for their future.

“Marriage is a very beautiful thing, you know. It makes you responsible,” Geoffrey shared with a huge smile plastered on his face.

He went on to give credit to his dad for a great upbringing that has, in turn, helped keep his marriage and family happy and intact.

“My dad taught me how to deal with conflict, how to lead, and how to respect women, how to respect my wife by how he respected his wives—he had three wives, all of whom are my mothers,” the vocal county officer heartily shared.

To his wife, he expressed gratitude by stating, “I love you so much. Were it not for you, I’d never have the pleasure to be called dad or someone’s husband. You have made me a respectable man because you not only take care of me and my children, but you also feed me well, ensure I’m always well-dressed, and above all, you love me truly and care for me. Thank you for loving me and tolerating me for the past almost 10 years. I pray God gives you good health and takes care of you, and if He sees it right, He helps us attain our dream of having a huge family, just like my dad, who had 21 kids.”
