Madini is loved by many thanks to his Classic Swahili songs.
A look at his YouTube channel gives you a glimpse of a man who is talented but underrated.
In an exclusive interview with Mpasho, Madini explained where he has been and what he has been up to. What hustle was he doing before he decided to pursue music?
“Nilikua Kinyozi (barber) and a stylist at the same time, I am a good barber to date.”
Did you take a music break?
” I took a break from releasing projects but I still do my recording sessions as usual because I am working on releasing an album this year. I have been around just working more on myself trying to venture into business.”

He could not reveal the names of the artists as it is still a work on progress.
Truth be told, Madini is underrated, he would give artists like Jay Melody, Harmonize and Rayvanny a run for their money.
He says one of the challenges he has faced so far is converting his content and fame into money.
“The biggest challenge I have ever faced is converting my content into money, I have got big projects with good numbers but the numbers haven’t converted to what I expect and sometimes it’s soo disappointing.”
Despite the challenges, Madini has had his fair share of success. What has been his biggest career highlight?
“The moments am proud of are when my song ‘Bingo Bango crossed the border. Seeing myself trending on TikTok with a crazy number of challenges, being number one on boom play trends performing on big platforms was such a rocket move in my career.”
Are there artists he looks forward to having collaborations with?
“Alikiba is on my wish list I grew up listening to him so I think that can be a killer combo. I don’t take chances I believe in myself I believe I am a good artist I only work with someone we have got good chemistry.”

“Kenyans support their own 💯 it’s the government that’s holding the tail of our entertainment industry we don’t get enough support, unlike other countries.”
Some people might argue Kenyan music does not pay, how true is it?
“Kenyan music does pay but only if you have a good team. When I say a good team I don’t mean a group of people I am talking about music business experts. Depending on streaming platforms is just a nightmare.’
What advice would he give someone who wants to join the music industry?
“Don’t wait anymore start today it’s such a beautiful industry full of fun and good life experiences go for it you know you are talented and you love it.”
