Diamond Discloses Huge Furaha Fest Rate Card

Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz has shed light on his absence from the stage during the Furaha City Festival in Kenya, a situation that left fans disappointed and sparked widespread controversy.

In a video statement, Diamond disclosed that he was ready to perform but circumstances beyond his control forced him to retreat.

The artist revealed that he spent hours in his car waiting for his performance slot, which kept being delayed.

“There was chaos near the stage, and I moved to a different area. Unfortunately, the commotion spread there too,” he explained.

Diamond said his manager repeatedly contacted the event organisers for clarification on when he would take the stage, but their responses were inconsistent.

Citing security concerns, his management advised against performing. “I respect my craft and won’t force myself to perform if the agreed conditions aren’t met,” Diamond said.

Addressing rumours that he deliberately blocked fellow artist Willy Paul from performing before him, the “Jeje” hitmaker dismissed the claims as baseless.

“I was the headliner. Other artists were expected to perform before me. Why would I care about who performs before me? Such stories are made to create unnecessary drama,” he said.

Diamond also revealed the hefty amount he was paid for the show—KSh19.4 million—and stated that he would not refund the money, citing the organisers’ breach of contract.

“The agreement was for me to perform on the 7th, not the 8th. I won’t refund because they failed to honour the terms,” he asserted.

Furaha City Statement Days Earlier

His statement comes a few days after one of Furaha City organisers Willis Raburu had issued a statement regarding the absence of the Tanzanian star to perform.

“We deeply regret Diamond Platnumz did not perform as scheduled. As organisers, we ensured all plans were in place for a seamless event. Unfortunately, challenges with his team’s conduct and demands proved insurmountable,” the statement read.

Raburu dismissed claims of disorganisation, noting that a minor security issue involving another artist had been resolved promptly.

“The event continued safely and professionally, and other artists delivered outstanding performances,” he added.

Despite the setback, Raburu praised the Kenyan performers for their energy and professionalism, stressing their role in creating a memorable experience for festival-goers.

Willis Raburu speaking to Rayvanny

He also thanked Wasafi artists Zuchu and Rayvanny for their electrifying performances.

Acknowledging Diamond’s prominence as an international artist, the organisers spoke about the importance of mutual professionalism and respect in such collaborations.

Raburu assured fans that lessons from this experience would guide future editions of the festival.

“To our fans, partners, and performers, thank you for your unwavering support. You made Furaha City Festival a celebration of culture, music, and unity,” Raburu concluded, sharing the statement alongside a Kenyan flag and a message of gratitude.
