Fiona Akiniyi’s mum is in pain because if her missing daughter (l), the college girl who went away with Nigerian men (r).

A family is in agony after their dear daughter disappeared after leaving home with two men who seemed to be Nigerians.  According to her dear mum, Fiona Akinyi is a student at the Nairobi Institute, a college miles away from their home. Before leaving with the men, she left the keys to her house in Shauri Moyo with the caretaker so that he could ensure their safety. The widowed mum also revealed that her daughter’s phone had been switched off since she left with the two men.

Why is Fiona’s mum asking for government’s help? The single parent of several kids reported the matter at a police station in Busia before embarking on a journey to neighbouring Uganda to look for her daughter; she heard rumours that her daughter was away in the country with the two men who took her away. The lady bitterly complained that the men were a bad influence on her daughter. “Fiona had completed her exams and was supposed to go for her attachment. The 20-yearold was supposed to retake an exam because she failed one paper and she has not done it,” said her mum.

“This mother is in problems; she is a single mum and really wants her children to thrive but they are not. We are calling upon the government to help this woman,” said a family member.
