Multi-award winning theatre and screen actress Foi Wambui has finally addressed rumours intimating she and her ex-boyfriend, ‘Sina Noma’ hitmaker, Charisma are back together.
Netizens recently began speculating that the two high profile media personalities had worked through their issues and were low key back together.
This was fueled by the former couple’s cordial relationship and the support they seemingly offer each other.
Foi however maintains that she’s moving forward and is excited for what’s ahead.
“Nothing is going on between me and Charisma. As of today, he is not my boyfriend. Yes, we had something going on previously but now we are just friends,” the seasoned digital content creator stated as she sought to fizzle out the rumors.
The couple supposedly dated for 2 years before calling it quits as things were no longer working between them. Interestingly, they had kept their relationship a secret from the general public for quite a long while, only presenting themselves as a pair of cool, fun friends who occasionally created content together. There was no soft launch, or anything along the lines.
Speaking about their past romance in a recent interview, Charisma pointed out some of the short comings that come with dating someone in the limelight. He also added it was an advantage if they’re both famous, as each partner can to some extent understand things from a, ‘I know’ point of view.
On why they never officially announced their relationship on socials, the former Le Band singer said,. “the thing about the two of us is that we weren’t a secret but we were private. If you met us for sure you could tell we were dating but we never went out of our way to let people know that we were together,”
“I’m not in a relationship right now. I was in a relationship while I was a singer in the limelight. I think the advantage I have had is being in relationships with people in the (entertainment) industry, and the advantage is that even when they saw the attention I was getting from other women, it was easier for them to understand it was because of the work we do.
For example, I was dating someone who is also big in the acting space, and she also did roles that made me uncomfortable. We could also be in places where she gets swamped with people who love her because she is pretty and an actor and all that, but at the end of the day I understood its work.
We understood that. But we also knew how to separate our personal lives from the business that we are both in.” Charisma candidly said during his appearance on the Financially Incorrect Podcast.
