Legendary Tanzanian rapper Professor Jay

Legendary Tanzanian rapper and former Member of Parliament Joseph Haule aka Professor Jay has for the first time shared never-seen-before videos from his hospitalization.

In the video, Professor who was hospitalized for more than a year could be seen learning how to walk again with the help of his doctors.

Professor shared the photos as a way of encouraging his fans and showing them where he has come from as far as battling his illness is concerned.

“Praise to be God, I thank you for keeping me alive and helping me overcome all my battles.  I have nothing to say but thank you God because the first riches one can have I having God by their side. The second riche is having good health,” Professor Jay shared.

“The third riche is having people by your side and the last one is their wealth you have. I will praise you every day of my life. Amen,”.

Last year, the rapper cum politician revealed that he was suffering from liver-related issues which got him into the ICU for 127 days.

“Ingawa magonjwa ni mawaidha watu wanasema , lakini watu wanakufa sana, kwa mimi niliyekaa ICU siku 127, unajua kule ICU watu hali zao mbaya sana, kujikuta ICU na una- survive siku 127 sio mchezo” he said in a past interview

(People die in the ICU, for me who has stayed in the ICU for 127 days in a critical condition and to survive the 127 days in there is not a joke)

He suffered cardiac arrest 3 times while admitted to hospital. On one occasion his heart had stopped for 45 minutes, as doctors frantically fought to resuscitate him.

However, Professor Jay has been on a recovery journey for the past few months after being discharged from the Hospital.

He also lost his original voice after surgery and now talks with the help of a pipe attached to his throat.
