Rwandese gospel singer Israel Mbonyi is in the country where he is scheduled to hold a concert. The beloved singer was given a heroic, warm welcome by fans who expressed their joy to have the singer in the country. During his interview on TV 47, the Nina Siri hitmaker recalled his first time in Kenya and how he used a boda boda to meet a producer in Kasarani. Mbonyi also shared how God inspired his Nina Siri viral song and revealed that it came to him through a dream. “That time, I was praying and asking what’s next, what’s the next move. I don’t know what’s left and the same night I had a dream. And someone was singing that song in my ears. In the morning, when I sat on the keyboard, all the words just came, and I started writing. The second night, again, that person sang, and that’s how the song came, and I knew God wanted me to sing in Swahili,” he said. When asked about his relationship status, the singer declined to answer if he was seeing someone. He said: “Who said I am single? I do not know about being single but I am having a wedding on Saturday somewhere, someday. The secret is Jesus, but we are praying and waiting.” Dr Ofweneke pitches Stivo Simple Boy to Mbonyi At some point during the interview, the host, Dr Ofweneke, suggested that he should collaborate with budding singer Stivo Simple Boy. Ofweneke said: “There is one artiste that I really think is important that you do a project with him. The whole country will appreciate him. When you go back to your room, you can do a little research on him. He is called Stivo Simple Boy. He is amazing, you and him same collabo.” However, Mbonyi, who had mistaken Simple Boy for someone else, laughed and noted that he would do homework on the singer. “I’ll Google him,” said Mbonyi.
