Uhuru Park: Kenyans Shout Anti-Ruto Slogans as Names of Fallen Protesters Are Read Out

Uhuru Park for the memorial concert

Thousands of Gen Zs and millennials have thronged Uhuru Park for the memorial concert in honour of protesters killed during the anti-Finance Bill demonstrations. The event, dubbed Shujaaz Memorial Concert, has also brought together people outside the two generations who have committed to supporting the course. During the concert, the charged crowd chanted anti-President William Ruto’s slogan. It started after the event MC Kwambox asked the Uhuru Park crowd to honour the fallen heroes by chanting VIVA! However, the crowd defied the order and started chanting ‘Ruto Must Go’ as the names of the victims were read out. The MC posed, read out the names, and requested the crowd adhere to the earlier directions, but the energetic crowd defied him and continued chanting anti-Ruto slogans.
