Finance Bill 2024: Kenya Kwanza MPs Approve Controversial Bill Despite Widespread Protests

 

Parliament  passes finance bill

The controversial Finance Bill 2024 has been approved by the National Assembly in record time. On Tuesday, June 25, 195 MPs allied to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance voted in favour of the bill against 106 who opposed it, with three MPs abstaining. The bill will now be presented to President William Ruto for assent. The move by MPs comes despite the wide protests across the country.
