A lady has stunned many people after sharing the cost of fixing her smartphone’s damaged screen online. Facebook users Julie C Godwin who shared her experience changing smartphone screen. How much is smartphone screen repair? In a Facebook post, Julie Godwin lamented after spending $207 (KSh 26,592, based on the current exchange rate) to fix her Samsung S22 Ultra phone’s screen. Godwin cried foul over the cost of living, making things expensive. “Just spent ₦310K (KSh 26,500) to fix my Samsung S22 ultra screen. This country is a mess,” read the post in part. The Nigerian lady, who works as an artist, caught the attention of her social media followers, sparking debate online. What netizens said about price of phone repair Some shared their experience, while others sympathised with the lady over the cost. Bolaji Olaloye said: “As at last year my iphone 13 pm screen went blank. I was charged over KSh 26,000 for it, crazy how I switched to apple from Samsung hoping apple screens would cost less only to be faced with that rude shock.” Sampson MacAya said: “That’s really expensive. Just screen alone.” Hossana Chikwado said: “That’s quite cheap. They made a greater mess when I went to fix my 13pm screen. Just be thankful you got it fixed and try not to drop it again.” Olugesin Folu Opeyemi said:  “Oops…. too bad. That’s over $200 (Ksh 26,000). Samsung gadgets are generally expensive, but the quality is there. You’d make the money in no time.” Yuyu Odukoyas said: “That’s about $200 (KSh 26,000). I think it’s not bad considering that the phone itself is now worth over a million. Also, the fingerprint technology is also embedded on screen.” Nkemjika Amaechi argued: “Very cheap over there, I refused to change mine after realising that I have to pay 250euros (KSh 34,300). I rather get a new one than spending such amount for screen. Joy Jacob wrote: “My Samsung current screen is about KSh 10,300, God knows that I don’t joke with my phone.” Jude Lawrence claimed: “It is cheap , in some Country the screen is same price with the new phone.” Solace Obiajulu noted: “Holding my S23 Ultra like my life depends on it.” Klemz Bēatz claimed: “That’s because you like wasting money unnecessarily.”
