Siaya Mother Inconsolable as 1-Year-Old Baby Drowns in Pool of Water

 

A  lady saddened after bad news  

A woman from Siaya County has been thrown into deep mourning after her one-year child reportedly drowned in a pool of water on Thursday, May 9. The woman had gone to the farm when she got a phone call informing her of the demise of her son (photo for illustration).  How did the child drown? The child’s mother, Peris Auma, entrusted her son to the care of his elder brother, Glen Washington, before heading for the farm.  Speaking to Citizen TV, Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the incident was reported at Madiany Police Station by South Uyoma Chief Symprose Langi. According to Kimaiyo, Auma said she learned of her son’s passing from her neighbour. This prompted the police to go to Auma’s house, where they found the deceased. The body was later transported to the mortuary at Madiany Sub County Hospital. Sisters drown in Nakuru Earlier on Wednesday, May 8, two sisters drowned in a river on Wednesday, May 8, as they were attempting to cross River Ndarugu in Njoro Sub-County in Nakuru. The sisters, identified as Faith Cheptoo, 17 years old and Sharon Chepng’etich, 15 years old, are from the Nessuit location in Njoro Sub County. the area chief, Douglas Muna, said that the two were in the company of another girl who had already crossed the river. Chepng’etich slipped after stepping on a slippery rock as they looked for safer rocks to cross. They both drowned after her sister attempted to rescue her when they were overwhelmed by the water.  On March 27, A cloud of grief and sorrow engulfed Uhanya Beach in Bondo following the tragic death of a young man. Identified as Samuel Otieno, the young lad is believed to have gone to take a bath on Tuesday, March 26, at the lakeshore when he fell into the waters and drowned.
