Police have launched investigations after a political activist in Oyugis Town was found murdered. Evans Okoda was found murdered and his body dumped outside his home. On Friday, April 3, Evans Okoda, a familiar figure who took up security roles in clubs, private events and even lead security for prominent politicians, was found brutally murdered at his residential compound. What Evans Kidero said about Evans Okoda’s murder His death left many people in shock, as some of his body parts, such as his hand and tongue, were missing, indicating he died a painful death. In a statement, former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero urged the police to speed up the investigations into Okoda’s murder. “Following the brutal murder of Evans Okoda in the wee hours of this morning at his residence compound in Oyugis Town, Homa Bay county, I urge the authorities to investigate this crime and bring its perpetrators to justice,” Kidero said. Kidero disclosed that Okoda was part of his security team during the 2022 General Election, adding that his death has caused panic in the area. “Evans Okoda was part of my security detail during the 2022 General Election campaign period, and his brutal murder has created a cloud of fear that must be properly addressed. This heinous act has sent a chill down the spine of many residents in Homa Bay County and raised the spectre of violence,” he added.
