"The system has an area where it insists on parental engagement, the role a parent should play in that particular strand or sub-strand. It is to deepen rapport between the parent and their child. It is to strengthen the bond. The curriculum is the best discipline instilled by parents and teachers, the former being the pillar.  Through that bonding, the child's confidence is heightened and she or he will be able to open up on so many issues. Unfortunately, we have become strangers to our children and that's why they find it easier to share their challenges with the teachers than their parents," she added.
