'My military boyfriend left me for buying a bigger fridge!' Sandra Dacha recounts

Hilarious Kenyan actress Sandra Dacha has opened up about a past heartbreak that deeply affected her views on love and relationships.

In a candid interview with Simmy Kenya TV on April 23, Dacha revealed the identity of an ex-boyfriend, who had abruptly ended their relationship years ago.

Why? Dave allegedly left her after she bought a larger refrigerator than his, an act he found emasculating.

Dave's action left her deeply hurt shattering her confidence and left her questioning his motives.

"I used to have a boyfriend. I used to stay in Donholm at that time. he was a soldier. You know he left me for buying a bigger fridge. He went on a mission and when he returned, the house was filled with new items, and he couldn't understand where this girl got the money from.

"I came to learn that men feel intimidated. In his house, things were not like mine, so he left me. That was my lowest, by the way. I felt so bad, Dave wherever you are. I have never revealed his name, by the way, until now," she said.

Reflecting on the aftermath of the breakup, Dacha acknowledged the emotional turmoil she endured but vowed to never shed tears over a man again, asserting her newfound strength and independence.

"He's still in the military, but I don't talk to him. Why the hell would he leave me because I bought a big fridge? I loved him. I cried and cried. But since then, I have never cried for a man. I've had enough. Men should be proud when their women are succeeding... You have a flower," she said.

Since then she has really bloomed and grown into a confident woman who knows what she wants. Speaking to Dr. Ofweneke on TV47 in an early April 2024 interview, she made it clear that she cannot see herself dating a plus-size man.

"Never. I have a big stomach, and then you have a big stomach, what will we do?" she remarked candidly.

Adding, "I love it slim. Not that you're not handsome, but I prefer slim, dark, tall, and not so handsome," referring to physical attributes.

She admitted to not favouring handsome men, questioning, "Where would I take you if you're handsome?"
