Kenyan Woman Kneels, Pleads for Help at Mall Over Unpaid Restaurant Bill: “Alidhani Ni Kibanda”

There was drama at a mall in Nairobi after a woman knelt to plead for help over an unpaid bill. A good Samaritan helped a woman unable to pay a restaurant bill. Photos: @kuyaza. Source: TikTok Why didn't woman pay bill? The middle-aged woman reportedly ate at a luxury coffee-led restaurant located at the mall and could not pay. A video of her kneeling while surrounded by restaurant employees showed her protesting that she could not afford to pay. She can be heard repeatedly pleading, "Please. Please...", in the inaudible clip before a good Samaritan steps forward to her rescue. The Samaritan, a sharply dressed woman in green, hands her what appears to be a KSh 1,000 note and asks her to stand. According to the video's creator @Ninja, the woman soon after settled the bill. "The lady ate at Java...and for some reason was unable to pay...but a good Samaritan settled the bill... God bless the lady in green and her friend," said Ninja. It was, however, not clear if she was detained or forced to kneel by the employees. Loyciana: "I can never laugh, tomorrow it may be me. Life it's hard outside here." Lydiacleykuya: "Life is hard out here. Things are different on the ground.” Ombogo Mani: “She thought tea is KSh 10 like in vibandas.” Mhenga Kakia: "How did she start eating knowing she has no money?" Kiptenai Tom: "She could have gone to eat at Kibandaski. These are the type of women who will yell at the top of their lungs how they detest less moneyed men."  Moseti: "Hunger respects nobody.”
