A hardworking man is stranded following heavy, destructive rainfall that rendered him homeless on Friday, April 12. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Nyambane said his first instinct was to try to salvage what he could before seeking help. “I already found people around who were either victims of their houses also being destroyed or people who were taking advantage of the situation. Some came in the name of helpers, but they were thieves. Other than my household being destroyed, the so-called helpers stole some of my possessions and even foodstuff. I lost goods worth KSh 30,000,” the depressed dad of six said. He noted that he was not the only one who suffered massive losses following the rain; some of his neighbours also lost their property. “I do not know where to start from at this point. I lost my bedding, utensils, and shopping items that would last me the whole month. I am shattered, confused and in pain. I only need some help to jumpstart me. My kids are in Nairobi, hawking for a living, while two are in school. It is not easy for,” he said.
