Kisii Father of 6 Devastated after Heavy Rain Destroys House, Goods Stolen: “Sina Pahali Pengine”

 

A hardworking man is stranded following heavy, destructive rainfall that rendered him homeless on Friday, April 12. William Nyambane could not hide his heartbroken emotions after he lost his shelter, which had served him for years. I lost goods worth KSh 30,000, Kisii security guard The man who works as a security guard says he returned home from work to the devastating news and sight.  Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Nyambane said his first instinct was to try to salvage what he could before seeking help. “I already found people around who were either victims of their houses also being destroyed or people who were taking advantage of the situation. Some came in the name of helpers, but they were thieves. Other than my household being destroyed, the so-called helpers stole some of my possessions and even foodstuff. I lost goods worth KSh 30,000,” the depressed dad of six said. My kids are in Nairobi, Nyambane Nyambane from Kisii county said he had been staying at a friend’s house, but it was tough as he would have to start over. He noted that he was not the only one who suffered massive losses following the rain; some of his neighbours also lost their property. “I do not know where to start from at this point. I lost my bedding, utensils, and shopping items that would last me the whole month. I am shattered, confused and in pain. I only need some help to jumpstart me. My kids are in Nairobi, hawking for a living, while two are in school. It is not easy for,” he said.  Narok family buried in mudslide Elsewhere, heavy rains in Torokiat village in Ololulunga Narok south sub-county caused great havoc, leading to four deaths. The victims were identified as Robert Kibet (35), his wife Faith Keter (24), and their children Brian (five years old) and Cherotich Keter (three years old). A landslide swept away the four’s house on Monday night, April 8, after heavy rainfall in the region.
