Warutere, who schooled at Riara Springs Academy, will be flying to Mombasa on a three-day fully paid trip courtesy of Viutravel after emerging in the top spot out of 1,414,557 candidates. Viutravel said the gift was a way of appreciating Warutere's stellar performance and that he needed to go and enjoy himself. “At Viutravel, we award excellence, and so we appreciate that you have done well. This is a three-day fully paid holiday to Mombasa. Go and enjoy yourself for what you have done. We appreciate you with this, and we wish you all the best,” said Annette White. Warutere, excited about the gift, thanked Viutravel, hinting at taking his mother and father to Mombasa for the trip. Michael scored 90% in Mathematics, 85% in Kiswahili, 85% in Social Studies and Christian Religious Education (CRE), 84% in English, and 75% in Science, said he aspires to become a software engineer.
