National celebrations for Africa Public Service Day postponed
The Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Actio has postponed National celebrations for Africa Public Service Day, which were scheduled on June 8 to 10, 2023 at KICC.
Through their Twitter handle on Monday, the ministry announced that new dates will be implemented and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
“Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Counties (MDACs) and Symposium Panelists are advised to continue with the preparations as we await communication on the new dates,” read the post.
The Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action Aisha Jumwa announced that she will conduct a tree planting exercise to commemorate 2023 Africa Public Service Day.
Last year, the public service sector planted 1,000 trees on June 20, 2022, at Ngong forest to commence the celebrations that were marked on June 23, 2022.
The national government called on Kenyans to plant more trees as a way of lessening the effects of climate change.
The Kenya Kwanza government is aiming to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
The goal of the celebrations is to accord Public Service organizations an opportunity to reflect on their successes.
It also gives them a chance to map out appropriate measures to mitigate the challenges that bound service delivery processes. BY THE STAR
