CS Owalo distributes relief food in Siaya

 

ICT and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo on Sunday led the food distribution exercise in Siaya.

In a statement, Owalo said that the food distribution is focused on the vulnerable and underprivileged.

"On behalf of President William Ruto, I have this morning flagged off the distribution of relief food to the residents of Siaya, at Awelo Open Air Grounds in Siaya Town," he said.

This followed a directive by President William Ruto to flag off phase two of the ongoing distribution of emergency relief food. 

The National Drought Management Authority warned that the situation would get worse due to the failed rains.

On Saturday, Owalo distributed food in Migori.

He was accompanied by Suba South MP, Caroli Omondi, former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo, former Kisumu Senator Fred Outa, former Governor Jack Ranguma, UDA regional coordinator, Dianga Waore, and Siaya County Commissioner, Jim Njoka among other leaders.    BY THE STAR
