Matiang’i ignores Ruto in detailed letter before exit

Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i delivered a fitting final message to Kenyans a few days before he leaves a ministry that has become synonymously known with him.

He started by exhorting the value of service to one’s own country. “In a life of a man, there is nothing nobler than being called to serve your country.”

He then added that his ministry had “collectively strived to deliver service to our citizens. We have done this while improving the welfare of the gallant men and women in the security sector.”

He then praised those who had helped him in rendering service to Kenyans.

“As a front row witness to your many sacrifices, I will carry with me indelible memories of your valour.”

Matiang’i made sure to tout his ministry’s role in overseeing the ‘most peaceful election’ in Kenya’s history.

“The dawn of a new administration is at hand. I invite you to take deserved pride in your role as security providers for supporting the delivery of the most peaceful elections in the history of Kenya.

The most powerful CS in Uhuru Kenyatta’s government then called out critics who had accused his minsitry of trying to corrupt the recent general election.

“Despite immense criticism, scorn and false accusations of scheming to manipulate and interfere with the General Election, our sector put up a stellar and professional performance in supporting the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct the General election,” the CS said.

In addition, Matiang’i said he is leaving the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government as a man who is well-versed in the workings of public institutions.

He expressed his gratitude to President Kenyatta for allowing him to work in four different ministries over a period of ten years.

Matiang’i will be remembered as one of the most loyal and powerful government officials who ever served in Uhuru’s government.

He was so influential that he even chaired some cabinet meetings at the behest(and absence) of President Uhuru.
