"Having attained the majority requirement, I declare Kennedy Ng’ondi as the next County Assembly speaker," announced Clerk Edward Gichana.

Ng’ondi served as a deputy speaker to the late Alex Magelo from 2013-2017.

His first order of business will be to oversee the swearing-in of his deputy speaker.

He now becomes the fourth assembly speaker after his predecessor Benson Mutura.

Clerk Gichana ordered for the ballot papers to be sealed for a period of six months.

The clerk consequently ordered the Sergeant-at-arms to search for Ng’ondi and present him to the assembly.  BY THE STAR
