'Moneybags' Nandalwe drums up support for Raila during mother's funeral

 

Bungoma politician Moses Nandalwe has drummed up support for ODM leader Raila Odinga during the burial of his mother ahead of the 2022 polls.

Nandalwe who is the personal assistant of Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana, buried his mother Margaret Nandalwe on Tuesday in Bungoma county.

His mother died on September 17, 2021.

“When I was young, leaders were coming here to talk to my mother. When Jaramogi died, my mother went to bury him. Up to now, she kept saying that she went to bury Jaramogi in Bondo,” he said.

“Raila you have come to bury your supporter who was also the supporter of Jaramogi. We stand with you.”

Nandalwe was an aspirant for the Sirisia Parliamentary seat under the ODM ticket.

Other leaders who attended the burial were Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati, Cotu boss Francis Atwoli, ODM Party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna among others.

Raila refuted claims that he neglected the Western region on matters development after his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He said the handshake did not take Nasa to government, but rather served to bury political hatchets that had been witnessed during past General Elections.

The former premier also insisted that he is on course to bring about the third economic liberation, adding that he is not looking for followers but rather partners to assist him in the course.

Governor Godhana backed Raila's agenda of presidency come 2022 saying all Coastal leaders are behind him.

Oparanya backed Raila’s candidature saying it is time to revive the ailing sugar industries in Western Kenya.

However, Raila has not yet declared openly that he will run for the presidency in 2022.   BY THE STAR
