Rogue Elephant disembowels 73-year-old farmer

 

A 73-year-old farmer was trampled to death and disemboweled by a rogue elephant  in Kibwezi East subcounty, Makueni.

The man was identified as Charles Mutisya who was killed on Wednesday at 7am as he tended his farm in Nthunguni area in Mtito Andei location.

He was attacked by the jumbo that strayed from Tsavo East National Park.

Police from Mtito Andei police station and the Kenya Wildlife Services visited the scene.

Makueni county police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan said police and KFS rangers are patrolling the area.

The body was taken to Makindu Subcounty Hospital mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem.
