Wanted! DCI sends out alert for two bank fraud suspects

 

The office of the Director of Criminal Investigations is looking for the two suspects wanted in connection with bank fraud offences.

The DCI said on Wednesday that Gerald Gatheru Mwai possessing ID/No. 23463386 and Gladys Mwara Kamau of ID/No. 27293605 are wanted, pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued by the Chief Magistrate Court Milimani on October 16, 2020.

Any person with information the information that will lead to the arrest of the two named suspects asked to contact DCI Headquarters-ECCU section, the nearest Police station, call or SMS 0773004776.

Fraud cases have been rising in the country.

In August, five individuals in Kasarani were arrested with over 2,000 unregistered sim cards.

The police were acting on a tip-off from members of the public Pavab apartments on suspicion that the five were engaging in Electronic Money Fraud.

The police recovered 1,720 unregistered Safaricom lines, 429 Airtel lines, five handsets, and five laptops.

They five were Samuel Githinji Njenga, Wilson Mugo Githinji, James Gitonga Maina, John Ngotho Kariuki, and Ian Mbogo Kamau.
