ODM warns Tangatanga against incitement

 

ODM leaders on Friday cautioned Tangatanga against inciting Kenyans and using abusive language.

Led by party deputy leader Hassan Joho, they said divide and rule will not work in the Msambweni by-election.

They spoke on Friday after ODM candidate Omar Boga was cleared by the IEBC for the by-election.

Joho said Msambweni is an ODM stronghold and the party will floor Tangatanga on December 15.

"Boga was born, raised and live in this area, more so he has empowered several youths. Is it possible for intruders to evict him " he said.

Joho told Deputy President William Ruto that his team is no match for ODM. He dared Ruto to come to the ground.

On Thursday former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, Garissa nominated Senator Falhadha Iman and Kilifi Senator Christine Zawadi, among others, backed Ruto's man, Feisal Dori, in the by-election.

Siaya Senator James Orengo said the DP has disrespected Jubilee Party and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He said Ruto should resign, adding that he is a lost cause.

Orengo said they will continue to embrace the handshake and urged residents to maintain peace and unity.

Suna East MP Junet Mohammed said Ruto ceased to be Deputy President the moment he chose to operate against the government.

Jubilee withdrew from the Msambweni race in honour of the handshake agreement.

Likoni MP Mishi Mboko said Tangatanga is of little impact.

"[Former Machakos Senator Johnston] Muthama and Omar are political rejects who have no followers at the Coast, how can they lead us?" she said.

Kwale Senator Issa Boy criticised Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya for supporting Bader.

Mvurya, a Jubilee member, early in the week vowed to help Bader to win. Boy said Mvurya is a traitor to his party and should make known his stand.

The senator asked the President and the Jubilee Party to take disciplinary action against him.

"Your leaders said they won't [field] a candidate and you are busy campaigning for [someone else]. It seems you are no longer with them and [should] be punished for that," he said.
