Akothee’s sweet birthday message to son Prince Ojwang
Songbird Esther Akoth aka Akothee has narrated how she struggled in Switzerland in search of her a better life for her son Prince Ojwang.
Sharing the experience on social media, the Mwiituasa hitmaker revealed that she met Ojwang’s father in Shanzu, Mombasa.
On travelling back to Europe, the 48-year-old invited Akothee.
“We both made a decision of having you my son, back in 2008. I met your handsome dad, my heartbeat, my coro and my onion at my restaurant in Shanzu The Stomp 196. We became friends, lovers and later he invited me to Switzerland,” she wrote.
The mother of five went on to disclose that the stay in Europe took a turn for the worst she was five months pregnant.
“We both agreed to have you @princeojwang. We looked for you day and night in Switzerland, both of us were happy to have a baby boy, your dad was 48 years old then. When I finally announced that the period went missing, your handsome dad took me for dinner and we went into a new life of parenting until hell broke loose when we were five months pregnant, “she added.
Her greatest worry? Being deported: “I sneaked into Switzerland illegally to try fight for your space, but all was in vain. Being afraid of being deported once they found out I had no correct documents to stick around in Switzerland. I had a Schengen visa, and Switzerland was not Schengen then.”
Despite it all, the Akothee Safaris CEO never gave up on her quest to provide for her family.
“I have continuously chopped onions day in day out, I have gone days without food and sleepless nights, asking myself several questions, yes love dies, or maybe he got bored, it took me time to accept that papa has nothing anymore to do with me, I kept hurting myself by sticking around thinking he would change and have us live as a family,” she said.
Noting that she loves and respects all her baby daddies, the 40-year-old urged women not to get comfortable in relationships as things could change at any time.
“Don’t be comfortable for a moment, anything can pop up anytime. I had to make this relationship work for the sake of my children. None of my baby daddies is my ex, all of them are present in my life, and we fight like normal relationships, until further 18 years of notice… One person will be genuine with their opinion, the other one will use his powers to create pain to the other one,” she wrote.
