Action hero Jean-Claude Van Damme proves he still got it at 59


Action hero, Jean-Claude Van Damme may be 59 but he is proving that it has still got it as far as his muscle-bound physique is concerned, showing off his bod, which he reveals is the result of a gruelling five times a week training schedule.
The iconic movie star is globally known for starring in a slew of action-packed movies the 80s and 90s, such as Street Fighter and Universal Soldier, where he performed an array of high impact fight scenes and stunts.
The Belgium-born martial arts expert, who was once called the Muscles from Brussels, and who turns 60 in October, showed off his impressive frame in a picture taken at the gym with his 4.7 Instagram followers.
In the black and white shot, the actor is wearing a white vest, a black cap worn backwards and a pair of black glasses, as he flexes his protruding biceps for the camera.

He captioned the pic: "Wishing you a great Sunday!"
"I love how you make getting older a state of mind. Thank you!" wrote one.
"Keep up the great work" added another.
A third penned: "Still in amazing shape bud"
While a fourth wrote: "This is why they call you the Muscles from Brussels right there!! Wow!!!"
Jean Claude spoke about his extensive fitness routine to news.com.au saying: "If I don’t train I will miss my dopamine, serotonin and I will become depressed.
"Five days is good but for normal people four days is good and when I say ‘normal’ people, we are all equal but some have a day job and they are busy."

He added: "You need one day to rest, relax and rejoin the muscles. It is also good for the mind."
The actor started his fitness journey from a really young age, taking karate lessons by 10-years-old, then at the age of 15, he joined the Belgian Karate Team.
He started investing in his body looking good, spending ample time in the gym taking on a strict regime, working on his strength and building his muscles.
His hard work paid off and in 1978 he won Mr Belgium Bodybuilding.

Later Hollywood beckoned and he went on to star in a plethora of classic action movies such as Double Impact, Universal Soldier, Bloodsport and Kickboxer becoming one of the most-heralded action and martial arts actors in the industry.
