Ex-Nyaribari Masaba MP Hezron Manduku dies in Nairobi

The former deputy of Nyaribari Masaba, Hezron Manduku, died at the Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted, confirmed his son, Dr. Robert Manduku.

Dr. Manduku died Saturday night at the age of 79 after fighting a terminal illness for a long time.

After death, the deputy of Nyaribari Masaba, Ezekiel Machogu, sent his condolences to the family.

“I learned of Dr. Hezron Manduku's death with great shock and sadness. [He] was really a blessing for so many lives in Nyaribari Masaba and beyond through his selfless service to humanity, ”Machogu said.

VISIONARY

For his part, the deputy of Nyaribari Chache, Richard Tong’i, cried to Dr. Manduku "as a visionary and energetic leader who worked tirelessly and inspired the lives of many people in a very positive way."


The late Dr. Manduku was first elected to parliament in 1992 with a Kanu fine, but he would lose his seat to Senator Kisii Sam Ongeri in 1997.

He later defected from Kanu and was re-elected in 2002 with a Ford People ticket.

Dr. Manduku and Professor Ongeri served as parliamentarians of the Nyaribari Masaba constituency for more than two decades, and each claimed that only the other could take him out of power.

He also served as assistant foreign minister between 1993 and 1997.

CDF

Dr. Manduku is known to have operated for several years without an CDF office in his constituency.

He was a doctor and worked at the Kenyatta National Hospital. He also worked in the hospitals of Kakamega and Meru as a medical superintendent.

The former deputy also owned the Hema Hospital in the city of Kisii and Hema Coffee Millers.

Dr. Manduku died at 79.
