Murugi Munyi “Sells” Hubby’s Prado Over Valentine’s Day Mishap

As the 14th of February approaches, the pressure for the perfect Valentine’s Day gesture is mounting.

Kenyan content creator Murugi Munyi, widely known as Yummy Mummy, has added a humorous twist to the seasonal anxiety. She recently posted a tongue-in-cheek advertisement to sell her husband’s luxury vehicle.

Her reason was simple: he had not yet asked her to be his Valentine.

The Ultimate Valentine’s Ultimatum

Taking to her Instagram stories, Munyi shared a photo alongside her partner, accompanied by a direct warning. She informed her followers that, because her partner had failed to make the official request for the upcoming holiday, his car was now officially for sale.

“My man hasn’t asked me to be his Valentine yet, so I’m selling his car,” she posted.

The post quickly caught the attention of her large following. It tapped into the common Valentine’s Day pressure that often trends on social media. Influencers frequently use the lead-up to the day to share romantic expectations or humorous takes on relationship dynamics.

Listing the “Specs”

The vehicle featured in the joke is a black Prado. To make the “sale” more convincing, Munyi listed several unique selling points for the SUV.

She described the car as being “really big” and noted that it “goes fast vroom vroom.”

Beyond the speed, she highlighted a specific perk for drivers in the city. She claimed the vehicle “looks like a politician’s car, so cops don’t stop you on the road.” The lighthearted listing concluded with a request for interested buyers to DM to buy.

An Unbeatable Price Point

Perhaps the most amusing part of the post was the asking price. While a Toyota Prado usually commands a high market value, Munyi listed this one for just KSh 15,000. She also offered several alternative trade options for those without the cash.

“Also willing to trade for an iced coffee, a Summer Friday’s lip balm, or a KFC 2-piecer. Hatuwezi kosana,” she added.

Background on the Creator

Munyi is a prominent figure in the Kenyan digital space. She is a lifestyle content creator and a podcaster. She frequently shares updates about her marriage and family life with her husband, Zack.

While the “sale” is clearly a joke, it highlights how social media has changed the way people view Valentine’s Day. For many, the day is no longer just about a quiet dinner.

It has become a public display of affection that often starts with a formal invitation, weeks in advance.
