Kigali Paramount Hotel sets stage for first ever Valentine’s special

The Kigali Paramount Hotel has said it has an elaborate series of celebrations for this year’s Valentine’s Day, promising to turn the city of a thousand hills into a sanctuary for lovers.

Simon Muhoro, General Manager Kigali Paramount Hotel, said the facility has made preparations for what will be the first Valentine’s Day for the hotel that started operations in April last year and has fast become an attraction for both local and international guests.

“We are well prepared for both Valentine’s Day and the days leading to D-day. For Valentine’s Day, we have a rich menu of five courses from amuse bouche to a starter and rich main courses, deserts and even a finish with a bottle of wine,” he said.

“It is a package that is well priced because we have considered how sensitive the environment is in terms of pricing. We will have a romantic experience where entertainment will be salsa dancing. We will serve dinner at choice areas within the hotel, including the rooftop terrace and poolside dining.”

“We do not want to just host a dinner; we want to curate an atmosphere where time feels like it stands still.”

The elaborate Valentine’s Day programme is aimed at further endearing the hotel to the local clientele

Muhoro noted that while the hotel has major facilities that are targeted at conferencing and even international guests, it also has products that are targeted at the local market.
“We recognise that one of the biggest segments that we want for business is the local community. For that, we have developed packages and dining experiences, like a Sunday brunch that is a favourite for families in Kigali, we have barbeque with live entertainment on Saturday evenings with good nyama choma and we serve local cuisine,” he said.
“So that in addition to being a good destination for conferences, we are also a preferred destination for fine dining and casual dining.”
Radio personality Muthoni wa Kirumba, who has in recent weeks been on the road in Kigali and conducted mentorship sessions with students at Mount Kigali University (MKU) – an affiliate of Kigali Paramount Hotel, advised single mothers not to be pressured into feeling that they are alone during the Valentine’s season but should instead look at the achievements they have made and even reward themselves.
“As a single mother, Valentine’s Day can often feel like ‘Single Awareness Day’, but it is actually the perfect opportunity to embrace self-love, pamper yourself, and redefine the day on your own terms. Treating yourself during the month of love isn’t selfish; it’s an act of recognising your own strength and resilience,” she said.

“Be your own Valentine. Do not wait for someone else to shower you with gifts. Buy yourself flowers, chocolate, or that item you’ve been eyeing. Indulge in ‘Me Time’, book a pedicure, enjoy a long, uninterrupted bath with candles, or listen to an audiobook while treating yourself to a glass of wine.
