Prophet Victor Kanyari has publicly presented Marion Naipei, a woman who recently became the subject of widespread online discussion following a viral video, to his church congregation.
During a recent service, the televangelist referred to her as his “new sweetheart in town” and “best friend,” statements that quickly drew public interest and intensified conversation around their association.
Kanyari told congregants that he admired Naipei for her confidence and stated that he intended to support her public profile, describing himself as a well-known figure with the ability to influence visibility.
He assured her that she should not be concerned about public perception, adding that recognition often follows association with prominent personalities.

How the Association Began
Addressing speculation about how he came to know Naipei, Kanyari said he was not the first person to encounter the video that propelled her into the spotlight.
He explained that an acquaintance brought the footage to his attention and asked whether he had seen it. According to the preacher, this prompted a desire to view the content himself.
After watching the video, Kanyari said he decided to invite Naipei to attend a church service and greet congregants.
He dismissed criticism surrounding his involvement, describing the commentary as misplaced, and reiterated that his interest stemmed from what he described as her self-assurance rather than the circumstances of her online fame.

Appearance During Church Service
During the service, Kanyari called Naipei to the front of the church, explaining that she had been expected earlier to address worshippers during the main session. Standing before the congregation, Naipei shared brief remarks about her recent engagement with the ministry.
She told congregants that she first attended the church the previous Wednesday and that the experience marked a turning point in her spiritual life.
Naipei stated that she had not previously been a born-again Christian but had since undergone prayer and made a decision to embrace the faith.
Mi sikuwa nimeokoka lakini niliombewa nimekubali Bwana ameniokoa, she said.
“I have been very blessed since I came here Wednesday,” she said, adding that she had accepted salvation and intended to formalize her commitment. She announced that she would officially join the church as a member.

Responding to the Viral Video
Naipei also addressed the video that led to her sudden online recognition. She acknowledged its existence and described it as a mistake, noting that it occurred by her own choice.
She appealed to the public and church members to treat her with respect outside the church environment and not judge her based on the circulating footage.
In response, Kanyari defended Naipei, questioning the notion of public judgment and urging congregants to consider personal vulnerabilities. He challenged the audience to reflect on whether anyone could claim to have lived without moments that could invite scrutiny if made public.
By positioning her experience within a broader human context, Kanyari emphasized acceptance within the church and affirmed Naipei’s new status as a member of the congregation, marking a transition from online notoriety to a faith-based community setting.
