A young Gerenuk calf left vulnerable after losing its mother to predators has been rescued by the Manyatta Durte community in North Horr subcounty, Marsabit county.
Residents quickly alerted the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), prompting a response team from Sibiloi National Park to safely retrieve the calf.
KWS praised the community for its vigilance and compassion.
“This is conservation in action, driven by collaboration and shared responsibility,” it said.
The agency urged the public to report any injured or stranded wildlife for immediate assistance.
