Akothee Dating a Mzungu Man? Singer Addresses Golfing Partner Rumours

Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Akothee has issued a stern warning to social media users misinterpreting her recent photos with an anonymous white man.

The “President of Single Mothers” took to her social media pages to clear the air after users began commenting with speculations over her photos with a white man enjoying a golfing excursion.

The photos show Akothee dressed in a crisp, all-white golfing ensemble, including a polo shirt and a pleated mini-skirt.

She is seen walking across a lush green course alongside a tall, light-haired man wearing a red tropical-print shirt and khaki shorts. While the images capture a relaxed, conversational mood, Akothee was quick to dismiss any rumours of a romantic involvement.

Setting the Record Straight

In a pointed social media post, Akothee accused some followers of having “selective amnesia.” She clarified that the man in the photos was a fellow golfer and not a new partner.

She expressed frustration with “uncivilised” comments that she claimed could potentially damage people’s personal lives.

“Kenyans have selective amnesia. Mkiniona na mzungu mnatetemekela (When you see me with a white man, you tremble). These are golfers, please, not a couple,” she pointed out.

The entrepreneur warned that she would take action against anyone sharing the photos with misleading or “useless” captions. She declared that in 2026, she is focused on “sanitising” her digital space and will not tolerate bitter or malicious commentary.

“Stop breaking people’s marriages with your useless comments. You need to grow up. Most of you are very uncivilized; you have a degree in smearing people with mud. If I find this photo on your wall with a useless caption, I will take action against you.”

The Nelly Oaks Split

This public outburst comes only days after Akothee confirmed her relationship with her long-time manager and partner, Nelly Oaks, ended months ago.

While fans had been questioning his absence from her social media, Akothee revealed that the pair actually parted ways in June last year.

“We broke up a long time ago in June, and I am not complaining. We enjoyed our love until it finished. We don’t insult each other because we have mad respect for each other.”

She reminded her audience that when love ends, it is simply time to move on, noting that there are “a lot of women and men” in the world.

Nelly Oaks had been a constant figure in the singer’s life for over eight years. He supported her through various personal and legal struggles during their high-profile relationship. Despite the split, Akothee insisted there is no bad blood between them.
