Kenyan content creator Mungai Eve has addressed concerns from her followers regarding her activity on Instagram.
The digital personality revealed she is planning a shift in how she interacts with her audience. This comes after a fan accused her of neglecting the platform’s interactive features.
The interaction began when a follower sent a direct message to the creator. The fan suggested that Eve should try to do more engagement content this year.
They specifically pointed out that she rarely speaks on her Instagram stories, preferring to post photos instead.
“This year, you can try to do more engagement content like speaking on your Instagram stories. We’re rarely talking. Why? Unapost picha tu ama watu washakuchosha online?” a fan asked her.
The Challenge of Spontaneous Content
Eve responded to the message publicly via her Instagram stories. She admitted that she finds spontaneous engagement difficult. She described herself as being so poor at random conversations on the platform.
The creator explained that her habits are rooted in her long career in the industry. She has spent five years producing content that is typically recorded and carefully edited before being shared. The transition to the raw, unedited format of Instagram stories feels unnatural to her.
“I guess it’s because in my 5 years of creating, I’ve been used to posting recorded content, well edited, not just talking kwa stories, but I will try.”
Adapting to a New Style
Despite her discomfort, Eve is taking active steps to change. She informed her followers that she has already purchased a tripod to help her record herself speaking more often. She admitted that she still finds the process “weird,” but she is committed to making the effort for her fans.
She hinted that she has already gotten a tripod where she plans to mount her phone so that she engages her fans directly on live sessions.
“I even got a tripod I will be recording myself talking eeeiy I find it weird.”
This shift marks a significant change for a creator known for high-energy street interviews and celebrity news.
While she has dominated the long-form video space, the demand for “behind-the-scenes” or casual video content on social media has grown.
Return to YouTube
In her response, Eve also teased a return to her main platform. She noted that she loves “yapping on YouTube” and intends to get back to it very soon.
“Honestly, I am so poor at random conversations on ig stories… I love yapping on YouTube, which I should get back to soon, I know, but I will try talk hapa pia.”
A Transition Period
This change comes during a pivotal moment in Eve’s career. After a highly publicised professional and personal split from her former director, Trevor, Eve launched her solo brand, “Mungai Eve Media.“
This new venture requires her to establish a more personal connection with her audience. Her previous work often focused on interviewing others, whereas her followers now seem to want more direct interaction with her personally.
