Chebet Ronoh Recounts Years of Body Shaming
Speaking about her journey, she recalled repeatedly facing remarks targeting her body size from people significantly older than her. She said the comments began when she was 18 and continued through her early adulthood.
“I really thank God for awareness and for spiritual awakening because I was being body shamed since I was 18,” she said. “Even grown adults, including radio presenters, made comments about my body.”
She added that over the years she developed a strong sense of confidence rooted in self-acceptance.
According to her, learning to like herself has been a major turning point. “You think why I always have this confidence? It’s because I always like myself. There is nothing you can say to make me hate myself,” she said.
