The Machakos county government has shared details of the company that Sammy Kioko said delivered staff uniforms but was not paid. The Machakos county government spoke about the tiff with Sammy Kioko. The comedian has been vocal about facing tough financial times due to a KSh 19 million debt from two years ago. Kioko said his partner faces eviction and health struggles, and he sought an audience with Governor Wavinya Ndeti, even camping outside her offices at night. Did Sammy Kioko do business with Machakos county? The county issued a statement rejecting the claims, stating they were unfounded and part of a politically motivated attempt to discredit Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
The county also asserted that there was no contract with Kioko and that he wasn’t registered as a supplier. In a press briefing, Joseph Mathuki, the county head of procurement, shared insights into the matter, saying the contract in question involved the supply of staff uniforms. “The county is a legally constituted institution, and what we undertake, we deal with procedures and processes.” Kioko talked about having been awarded a tender at Machakos county, which he has not received, according to the documents submitted.” Mathuki noted that Kioko is not one of the directors of the company, but stated that the company had received the tender to supply uniforms. The county official then explained why the payment was delayed. “Payment was delayed, not because of anything else, but because the first deliveries were incomplete, and there is no way the county government would have processed payment without full deliveries.”
However, Mathuki stated that the company completed the deliveries in the 2023/2024 financial year. “The payment process is ongoing and will be completed soon. Kioko has no legal authority to speak about the matter, and I would regard him as one of the impostors messing with the name of the county and the governor,” Mathuki said. Kioko shared the video and swiftly responded, urging the county to pay up. “I absolutely have no business tarnishing the governor’s name. The county has now confirmed that a tender was awarded and fully completed, contrary to an initial statement that there was no documentation regarding any such tender. We had an agreement with my sister on how to fund the project, just like how any other LPO would be financed. We delivered the work as per the award and invoiced. The invoice is in the name that was awarded the tender. If Kioko is the problem, then pay the company! Let’s stop the politics, just pay and save a life.” READ ALSO Sammy Kioko worried as Wavinya Ndeti accuses him of tarnishing her name over KSh 19m debt Kenyans insisted that the county pay its debt, no matter the company’s ownership. steam_insights: “Give us his number so that we can greet him.” fazul_fazz: “Tomorrow we are in Machakos!” chariii_chan: “The anger I have.” masila_justus: “Because they thought the owner was no one important in society, they intended to frustrate her until she gave up.”
