Esther Baumbach Leaks Chats with Dada Sarah after Admitting She Dislikes Some of Her Content

Blogger Esther Baumbach has been trending on social media after making remarks about popular content creator Dada Sarah, famously known for her authentic Kikuyu-language skits. Esther Baumbach criticised Dada Sarah’s content.  Dada Sarah, whose real name is Waweru, is well-known for dressing as a woman and acting out various relatable characters. What did Esther say about Dada Sarah’s content? One of Dada Sarah’s most viral characters is Mwihaki, a gullible woman looking for love.  The debate began when blogger Rio Kariuki admitted that he did not like the character. Esther joined the conversation, agreeing that the character does not sit right with her.

“I also do not like that character. There are people who are genuinely born like that. I feel like that character is mocking them. The previous one was just fine,” her comment read in part. After netizens alerted Dada Sarah about Esther’s remarks, the comedian responded, saying that whether people liked the character or not, he still earns from it, and therefore had no plans to stop. Hours later, Esther returned to social media, seemingly after seeing Dada Sarah’s response, and leaked private chats between them to clarify what she had meant. “I have always been a supporter and fan of the Dada Sarah character, love the person he is away from acting, and he is pretty funny to hang out with. The Mwihaki character, however, does not do it for me, and I stand by that. See, my opinion doesn’t have to matter, but it’s mine. I am entitled to mine just like you are entitled to yours,” she wrote, captioning the WhatsApp screenshots.

In one of the leaked messages, Esther explained herself to Dada Sarah, saying: “Just so you know, I do not dislike you. I was just giving an opinion like any other person. Nothing personal against you; I love your other character a lot.”  Dada Sarah later responded, confirming there was no bad blood between them and acknowledging that Esther had long supported her content. See the post below: Here are some of the comments from netizens: ipkalya Ke: “You are a true friend.” Njeri Wandurua: “I never miss any Dada Sarah episodes, I love that character! But that Mwihaki, never watched even a single one. I have never liked the Kubai character.” Mercy Njoki: “After you realised the damage you have caused you reach out to him and because of his maturity he responded in a positive way.”

Muchai Angeline Angel: “We also learn from opinions and you are true friend no faking.” Dada Sarah was gifted KSh 1 million by MP Elijah Kururia. Photo: Dada Sarah.
