Eddie Butita Questions Why Men Attended Vera Sidika’s “New Boobs” Party

Comedian Eddie Butita has sparked a debate after questioning why men attended socialite Vera Sidika’s recent party.

The event celebrated her post-surgery transformation. Vera, known for her glamorous lifestyle, held an exclusive launch party in Nairobi.

She had just returned from New York, where she underwent cosmetic surgery to enhance her breasts. The event, called the “New Cocos Reveal,” was a star-studded affair.

Eddie Butita isn’t just a comedian; he’s a well-known voice in Kenya’s entertainment industry. He rose to fame on the popular Churchill Show, where he was celebrated for his unique brand of comedy.

Beyond the stage, he is a producer and CEO of his own production company, SPM Buzz.

His public persona is built on being a blunt, no-nonsense commentator on social and pop culture issues. This reputation for directness explains why his comments on Vera’s party quickly went viral.

The Comedian Weighs In

Butita, never one to shy from controversy, weighed in on his podcast and on X (formerly Twitter). He questioned the presence of male attendees.

“Why are men attending a party to unveil someone’s new boobs?” he asked. “As men, there are things we should stay away from.

That is not our business.” His remarks quickly stirred conversation. Some agreed that such events are outside the norm for men. Others called him out for promoting outdated gender roles.

A Deeper Debate

“Why is it okay for men to attend bachelor parties but not support a friend’s cosmetic milestone?” asked one user. “We’re in 2025—let people live,” Butita defended his comments.

He clarified that he respects Vera’s choices but maintained that men should have boundaries. “Showing up to clap for new boobs? That’s a bit much,” he said.

Vera did not respond directly. Instead, she shared photos of the mixed crowd enjoying the night with the caption: “Real ones showed up. Love always.”

This isn’t the first time Vera has ignited public conversations over body image. She had a breast reduction in 2022, only to reverse it with a new procedure this year.

As Kenyan celebrities increasingly blend personal branding with bold self-expression, public opinion is constantly tested. And with personalities like Butita speaking out, the debate continues to evolve.
