TikTok personality Lydia Wanjiru has spoken candidly about the emotional, physical, and financial toll she endured while caring for her then-boyfriend, Frank Doso, after he suffered a serious fall from a building.
Although she has not directly addressed what may have led to their alleged breakup, her reflections have sparked conversations online, especially among fans who had long admired the couple’s content.
In a recent video shared while enjoying a spa session, Lydia explained how she barely had time for herself during Doso’s recovery.
“Never speak negatively about someone with a sick loved one in hospital,” she urged. “If you see such a post and you have nothing good to say, just breathe in and keep quiet. It’s a shoe I would never wish on my worst enemy.”
Life as a Caregiver
Lydia revealed that she spent two months caring for Frank, during which her life was completely disrupted.
“The first thing I realised was that my life came to a standstill,” she said. “I went for days without showering or eating. At home, this person depends on you for everything — even turning when he had slept on one side.”
She also spoke of the emotional strain, saying she began resenting people after rumours spread that she might have been responsible for the accident.
The financial burden was equally overwhelming. “By week two, we had already spent KSh 1.8 million. He needed food and treatment, and you just had to make ends meet,” she recalled.
“If there was a time I appreciated being an orphan, it was then.”

Social Media Reactions
Her heartfelt revelation drew support from many of her followers.
@Sonnie wrote: “I agree with you. Caregiving is draining mentally, emotionally, and financially.”
@Naomi added: “The worst part is, if the person dies, people see you as a fool.”
@QuiJoy said: “This video is literally everything I felt. I have never seen people the same way.”
@Fashi noted: “I do it as a career, and it is not easy.”
@Flower commented: “May God bless you for being there, and may He restore you twice as much.”
@Njeri concluded: “Your patience is tested.”
Signs of Trouble in Paradise
Her revelations come at a time when rumours of a breakup between Lydia and Frank have been swirling. Fans noticed the pair stopped sharing their usual couple content on TikTok and Instagram, with both now posting separately.
Adding to the speculation, the two unfollowed each other on Instagram and Lydia even deleted some older posts featuring Frank.
“Something is off. These two were inseparable online, and now it’s like they’re avoiding each other,” one fan observed on X.

The silence from both sides has left room for theories. While some believe they are keeping their relationship private to avoid drama, others are convinced the breakup has already happened.
As one fan summed it up: “Celebrities owe us nothing, but when you build your brand around your relationship, people will obviously ask questions.”
