How women tried to fool customers by acting like mannequins They were posing next to real mannequins, trying to imitate their stiff posture and expressionless faces.  However, their act was not very convincing, as they could not help but talk to each other in their native Kikuyu language, making funny comments and giggling. They also moved their eyes and heads occasionally, betraying their human nature.
