Ruiru: Another Body of Woman with Injuries Found Dumped by Roadside

 

Police in Kiambu county have launched investigations after a middle-aged woman was found murdered in Juja. Police officers at the scene where a woman’s body was found dumped. Citizen Digital reported that on Wednesday, January 17, the body of the woman was found dumped in the Gwa-Kairu area of Juja. What Juja police boss said about the murder Juja sub-county Police Commander Michael Mwaura said detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based in Juja visited the scene and are trying to establish who was responsible for the incident. Mwaura disclosed that the body had visible physical injuries and bruises on the face and that the surrounding area suggested signs of a struggle. The police boss indicated that leaves of muguka, popularly known as ‘Jaba’ and groundnuts, were found at the scene. The body of the unidentified woman was moved to the General Kago funeral home in Thika County, awaiting postmortem. Murder incident in Roysambu In another development, more details have emerged about the incident where a young lady was murdered at an Airbnb in Roysambu. On Wednesday, January 17, it emerged that the 20-year-old lady was identified as Rita Waeni Muendo, a university student. Her grieving family stated the circumstances under which the young university student was killed. In the statement sent to TUKO.co.ke, it emerged that Rita’s killers sent a text message to the family using her phone, demanding a ransom of KSh 500,000. “On Saturday, 13th January 2024, our daughter Rita Waeni Muendo left her aunt’s residence in Syokimau to meet with a friend. On Sunday, January 14th, at 5am, her father received a message, delivered from her phone number, demanding a ransom of KSh 500,000 within 24 hours for her release. With this message, the family reported the matter to the police and DCI, and investigations began,” the family said.
