Makueni Man Killed By Crocodile While Crossing Athi River

 

Makueni man was fatally attacked by a crocodile in Mwania village, Kithayoni, Kathonzweni Subcounty, as he tried to cross Athi River. 

 

Area Red Cross Cordinator Evans Peter said the organisation received a distress call on Tuesday and arrived went to the scene but found locals had already recovered the victim’s remains

 

Police took the remains to the Makueni Referral Hospital mortuary.

 

The identity of the victim is yet to be released.

 

Residents have urged Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to intervene and get rid of the crocodile to curb further deaths

 

This incident occurred just a few weeks after a teen was attacked by a crocodile in the same area.

He was rescued but suffered injuries to his hand and leg.
