Taylor Swift has unveiled details of her upcoming album and offered a candid glimpse into her romance with boyfriend Travis Kelce during a highly anticipated appearance on his New Heights podcast.
The pop megastar joined the American football player and his brother, Jason Kelce, to announce her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on 3 October.
In a lively conversation, Swift discussed how the couple first met, her creative process, her famous hidden messages to fans, her record-breaking Eras Tour, and even her love of baking sourdough bread.
The interview was a departure from Swift’s usual approach; she rarely gives media interviews, preferring to let her lyrics tell her story.
Nevertheless, more than 1.3 million people tuned in live, as the brothers affectionately referred to her as “Tay Tay” and recited her long list of accolades.
The New Album: The Life of a Showgirl
Clips of the episode went viral before it aired, including the moment Swift revealed the album’s cover – an image of her in a diamond-studded dress, submerged in turquoise water with only her face and wrist visible.
She explained that she wrote much of the record while on her Eras Tour, making frequent trips to Sweden to record between shows.
“This was me telling the story of everything happening behind the curtain,” she said. The album includes 12 tracks, among them a title track featuring Sabrina Carpenter, and promises an upbeat sound – a stark contrast to her previous release, The Tortured Poets Department.

A Whirlwind Romance
Swift also credited the podcast for sparking her relationship with Kelce, recalling how his earlier comments about wanting to meet her went viral.
“This podcast got me a boyfriend,” she quipped, calling him “the good kind of crazy” and “a human exclamation point.”
With her trademark humour, Swift teased the show’s sports-oriented audience: “If there’s one thing male sports fans want in their spaces, it’s more of me.”
The singer, who knew nothing about American football before dating Kelce, admitted she’s now invested enough to care about player trades.

Easter Eggs and Emotional Moments
She also opened up about her passion for “Easter eggs” – hidden clues in her work – stressing that they always relate to her music rather than her private life. Some are so elaborate they’re hidden “upside down, backwards in Braille.”
A more emotional moment came when Swift discussed regaining the rights to her first six albums after a decade-long battle.
She described collapsing to the floor in tears upon hearing the news. “It was my handwritten diary entries from my entire life,” she said, crediting her fans’ loyalty and attendance at the Eras Tour for making the buy-back possible.
Personal Glimpses
On a lighter note, she and Kelce laughed about baking bread together, with him joking about chest hair in his dough and her teasing about cat hair in hers.
Though she has often kept her relationships private, Kelce has been more forthcoming. Ahead of the podcast’s release, he told GQ: “I love being the happiest guy in the world.”
