Lydia Wanjiru’s Raw Account of Frank Doso’s Balcony Fall and Recovery

Digital creator Lydia Wanjiru has spoken publicly for the first time about the emotional turmoil she went through after her partner, Frank Doso, fell from the fourth floor of a building in a freak accident that nearly took his life.

Lydia revealed how deeply the incident shook her—mentally and emotionally—and how the experience exposed the harsh side of public scrutiny.

The Shock of Unsolicited Calls

Frank’s fall occurred as he was reportedly removing his shoe on a balcony, accidentally missing the railing and falling to the ground. The incident left him in a critical condition, with serious concerns about whether he would ever walk again.

According to Lydia, that first week in the hospital was a blur of fear. It was during this time that she received a flood of unsolicited calls from people who were already assuming the worst.

“We were wondering if this person would survive—it was a life-changing ordeal. And people were calling me, asking when the contributions for the burial would be.”

She described that period as the only time online criticism and speculation truly broke her, highlighting how quickly people jump to conclusions and focus on drama over human suffering.

Public Scrutiny and Emotional Scars

While Lydia says she usually doesn’t worry about what people say about her online, this experience was different. “The only time it really got to me—and it got to me so bad—was the first weekDoso was in hospital,” she said.

“People pushed my buttons that week, but after that, everything settled,” she added, reflecting on the emotional chaos.

The experience also exposed the unpredictable loyalty of online audiences. Lydia observed that many “self-proclaimed fans” are quick to turn against you at the slightest mistake.

“They watch you, waiting for you to trip or mess up just a little—and then they crucify you.”

A New Perspective on Life

Doso’s road to recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. While he is now back home, Lydia says the emotional scars from the experience linger. The incident has made her reassess her beliefs, priorities, and even the people in her life.

“It has made me rethink how I have been living my life. There will definitely be changes—in how I carry myself, how I relate with others, and how I view people around me.”

Now, with Frank recovering, Lydia says she’s focusing on healing, introspection, and redefining what truly matters to her.
