Probe as body found in a river in Nakuru

Panic gripped Banita area and its surroundings after the body of a male adult, estimated to be over 50-years-old, was found floating in River Ruiru in Nakuru County.

Kokwomoi Assistant Chief Richard Kiplangat reported the incident which happened in Soin Ward, Rongai.

Langat stated that the drowning was reported to him around 11 a.m.

He promptly responded to the scene and confirmed the presence of the body in the river.

Officers from Majani Mingi Police Station arrived at the scene, recovered the body which had bruises on the head and face.

Authorities identified the deceased as Jared Muiruri Kamau, based on documents recovered from his pockets, including a national ID card.

The body was transported to Nakuru Municipal Annex Mortuary for preservation pending autopsy.
