The 2025 World Computer Summit: Uniting the Future of AI, Web3, and the Self-Writing Internet

On June 3, 2025, the global Internet Computer community will gather in Zurich, Switzerland, for the highly anticipated 2025 World Computer Summit.

The summit is a celebration of the Internet Computer Protocol’s fourth anniversary, representing a major milestone.

Held under the theme “Reimagining the Internet for a Decentralized World,” this full-day event will dive into the transformative vision of the World Computer: a decentralized, global computing platform designed to host applications, data, and digital assets with end-to-end security and without centralized control.tamper-proof, and sovereign digital space.

The event is inspired by a bold vision, one that Dominic Williams, the visionary architect behind Internet Computer’s blockchain revolution, shared in 2021 as a tweet:

“Once I heard the words ‘World Computer’, I wasn’t able to think about much else. It had to be realized. Objective: every system and service rebuilt + reimagined on fast and unlimited blockchain using smart contracts, with no need for traditional IT.”

Today, that vision lives on within the Internet Computer ecosystem as it is redefining what’s possible through Web3, AI, and the Self-Writing Internet.

Since its launch, the Internet Computer has rapidly grown from an experimental protocol into a thriving, decentralized ecosystem that powers everything from DeFi platforms and decentralized social media to infrastructure tools, NFTs, and real-world asset tokenization.

With over 500 projects built on the protocol, various ICP Hubs operating across continents, and a vibrant community of developers, researchers, and advocates, the four-year anniversary is proof of a vision coming to life.

The 2025 World Computer Summit will be a melting pot of innovation, ideas, and collaboration that will bring together developers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and Web3 pioneers from across the globe. It will offer a unique opportunity to explore how emerging technologies, particularly AI, Web3, and the Self-Writing Internet, can collectively shape the future of society.

Significantly, Africa will be well represented at the summit through participation by ICP Hubs from across the continent.

The event is structured around two main stages:

The World Computer Stage will host visionary talks, thought-provoking panels, and headline presentations exploring the societal, economic, and philosophical implications of a decentralized digital future.

The Ecosystem Stage will showcase real-world applications and innovations built on ICP, including startup pitches, product demos, and technical presentations from some of the ecosystem’s most promising builders.

A few notable events are already generating significant buzz:

  • “The Age of Digital Colonialism”: A powerful opening talk examining how technology is influencing geopolitics and power structures in the digital era.
  • “Democratizing Tech: Realizing the Vision of the World Computer”: A critical conversation on how decentralized infrastructure can shift power back to individuals and communities.
  • ICP Ecosystem Pitches: Founders of cutting-edge projects built on ICP will present their visions, ranging from DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure) to sovereign AI and beyond.

The 2025 World Computer Summit is open to anyone passionate about shaping the future of technology.
